What is Reiki?

Reiki is a natural Japanese healing technique popular all around the world. In Japanese, the word “rei” refers to a higher intelligence that permeates through all living and nonliving organisms on Earth. The word “ki” refers to an energy that flows throughout all living beings, including plants and animals. It is known by many names such as; Chi, Qi, or life force energy. This Qi nourishes and maintains all life. When it flows without any blockages, there is balance and harmony.

Is Reiki safe?

As Reiki focuses solely on the energetic plain, it is compatible with any belief system and can be used alongside other conventional or complementary treatments. It is also a completely non-invasive treatment. The patient remains clothed and lies on a bed, as the practitioner places their hands in a series of positions over the patient’s body, from the head to the feet. Each position is held for 3-10 minutes, depending on the patient’s needs.

There are no known contraindications for Reiki. However, Reiki practitioners are not trained in diagnosis and cannot make any health predictions. If a patient is concerned about their symptoms, they should see a doctor.
